Biography

Steve Blackwell has had a varied career in the Canadian wine industry and the specialty chemical business that serves the food and beverage industries.  During two stints with Andres Wines Ltd., he held positions of Winemaker (the equivalent of brewmaster in a brewery) and Winery Manager, directing winemaking and packaging operations.  Steve organized training programs for plant employees, including safety instruction and the delivery of the WHMIS program.

Steve also held two positions with DiverseyLever Canada (now Diversey Inc).  The first was as Technical Sales Representative covering the province of Alberta.  He supplied automated cleaning systems to many food and beverage processors and consulted on installations, system design and safety training.  Steve is familiar with the operation of every type of food and beverage processing operation in Western Canada.  The second was as District Sales Manager, regional trouble shooter and point-man for new system introductions in Western Canada.  During this time, laptop computers were issued to all field sales representatives without a lot of technical support.  Steve became the go-to guy for computer "challenges" and handled much of the training.

Since the business was launched, SKB Videography has produced many video projects for companies in the Alberta oil patch.  Pipeline construction, oilsands recovery through mining and SAGD extraction as well as well drilling procedures are now familiar subjects.

Business experience, computer know-how and a long-time interest in videography have led Steve to found SKB Videography.  Having been on the Manager's side of the desk, Steve understands the challenges of that position and the benefit of an imaginative training program that leads to a well-trained workforce.  He understands your language and will custom-build your training, maintenance, safety, promotional and event videos to provide the ultimate in usability.
